Pbd's 5 moves for the week
September 6, 2021
1. Reflect

"it's hard to wake up and run those miles when you sleep in silk pajamas." -Dustin Poirier, #1 in the UFC lightweight rankings and speaker at The Vault 2021

Your Move

Ask yourself if you've lost your drive. Then ask yourself if that's okay. If you've hit your financial goal and find yourself bored, it may be time to re-examine your purpose.

2. Stat of the week

"Only 29% of new hires have all the skills required for their current roles, let alone for future ones. In key functions such as finance, IT, and sales, positions filled today will require up to 10 new skills within 18 months." -Harvard Business Review

Your Move

How will you re-invent yourself? Develop a plan to add new skills or both you and your business are going to be obsolete quickly.

3. Strategize

When you recruit, look for opposing strengths and similar values.

Your Move

First get clear on your weaknesses. Then hire people who can handle areas where you're weak. But don't confuse skills with values. The people you hire must share your values.

4. Read

Power vs. Force: The Hidden Determinants of Human Behavior by David Hawkins. At The Vault, I kept bringing up how important this book was to my development.

Your Move

If there ever was a book worthy of the term "must-read", this is it.

5. Perspective

The opportunity to go after your dreams.

Your Move

Most of us have the ability to make our dreams a reality. You have to visualize it, commit to it, and meet the demands of your dreams. Start with a vision board. Winners don't wait until New Year's to set big goals and make them visual.
