Pbd's 5 moves for the week
June 27, 2021
1. Reflect

"By stealing from the rich, Robinhood literally made the poor worse off. And that is the true story of redistribution...I've got the data to prove (that taxing the rich is bad for the poor)." Economist Arthur Laffer in an interview with Patrick Bet-David.

Your Move

Watch my interview with Arthur Laffer. Do some research on Laffer and see if you can determine the ideal tax rate that stimulates both business growth and government revenue. Stay open-minded and think about both the moral and business reasons behind taxation.

2. Stat of the week

You can drive yourself insane thinking about things you have zero control over.

Your Move

Invest your energy in things that you do have control over and it'll all work itself out.

3. Strategize

California Highway Patrol Sergeant Kevin Briggs is best known as “The Guardian of the Golden Gate Bridge” because he has saved over 200 people from jumping off the bridge. Briggs said that he believes that one of the main reasons that men turn to suicide is that they keep problems to themselves.

Your Move

Watch the interview with Sergeant Briggs If you've had anxiety or panic attacks (as I have), do not keep your problems to yourself. Find people you trust and be vulnerable with them. You'll be surprised how much of a win-win this is. You'll feel better and the other person will feel comfortable sharing with you.

4. Read

Blue Ocean Strategy I hosted Directors and C-Suite executives this week. We used Blue Ocean Strategy to guide our discussion. I also had a full day with sales leaders this week...and we used Blue Ocean Strategy to guide our discussion. The book is as relevant now as it was when it was published in 2004.

Your Move

You have to constantly re-create yourself and your business. Tides in the oceans change. You do not want to be a "Me too" company. If you have already read Blue Ocean Strategy, read it again.

5. Perspective

If you have to be told to be grateful, you're doing something wrong! .

Your Move

Slow down long enough to feel the gratitude and share it with others. If you want to say a prayer for Baby Brooklyn Bet-David, it would be gratefully received.
