Pbd's 5 moves for the week
July 4, 2021
1. Reflect

Do you think John McAfee committed suicide?

Your Move

Critical thinking is always a useful exercise. See if you can take in information from diversified media sources to gather data. I recommend doing that first, and then you can hear my thoughts on McAfee.

2. Stat of the week

Have you ever considered that maybe your haters and critics are right? it’s our job to do the work that proves our haters and critics wrong. Until we do, the people calling us out aren't haters; they're prophets whose criticism of us is accurate!

Your Move

Instead of lashing out at our haters, get quiet and use their hate as fuel to propel you to the next level. Having a chip on your shoulder can be a tremendous asset. To see why, watch the video.

3. Strategize

“To become good at anything you have to know how to apply basic principles. To become great at it, you have to know when to violate those principles.” Garry Kasparov

Your Move

Ask yourself the hard questions about whether you should be following the rules or breaking the rules right now.

4. Read

Up from Slavery by Booker T. Washington I'm reading this book to gain perspective on how Washington broke the chains of a victim mentality to become the first leader of the Tuskegee Institute, an author, and a political advisor to Presidents.

Your Move

Read the book and see if you can incorporate Washington's powerful philosophy: “I have begun everything with the idea that I could succeed, and I never had much patience with the multitudes of people who are always ready to explain why one cannot succeed,”

5. Perspective

Independence, which to me, means freedom. Because America has been free for so long, I wonder if Americans have become spoiled and are taking freedom for granted.

.

Your Move

You can define freedom and independence in many ways. If you don't have financial independence, write out your next five moves to get there.
