It kills me when I hear managers complain about a lack of commitment from their team. Instead of asking why your team isn't doing more for you (to be their flag carrier), ask what more you can do to support them (and be their flag carrier).
Envision what your life would be like if you committed to your biggest vision. What would happen if there was no Plan B, no doubt, and no fear?
Suspend yourself from asking these two questions: Can I do this? Is this for me? Then fully commit.
Ole Miss head football coach Lane Kiffin lost 30 pounds to set an example as a leader about accountability and discipline. Kiffin said, "Here I am...telling my offensive linemen and other guys that they needed to eat better, lose weight, get in better shape, and I looked like a whale."
Ask yourself if your actions match your words. Ask yourself if your own health and energy levels are setting the example for your team. If not, what's your plan to fix it?
Peyton's Manning Hall of Fame speech. When you see a great performance, what you don't see is the preparation.
Prepare like a champion...all the time. Whether it's a speech, a Zoom call, an interview, or a routine sales call, pay attention to all the small details, rehearse, role-play, and do everything you can BEFORE the event to giver yourself the best chance of success.
Children. I had the pleasure of bringing my fourth child, Brooklyn, on stage at PHP's convention in Vegas. I also interviewed several kids and asked them how they plan to make the world a better place. I was blown away by their answers, which is why I can continue to say FUTURE LOOKS BRIGHT.
Ask kids important questions. Guide them to think about their dreams for both the world and themselves. The biggest gift you can give them is the power to think big.
