Pbd's 5 moves for the week
September 23, 2023
1. Reflect

You get to choose what values and principles you embrace and whether all of these are non-negotiable. You better be prepared for the consequences of your non-negotiables.

Your Move

Spend as much time as it takes to write out your values and principles before sharing them. The minute they go live, you will find out if you can live by your own words.

2. Stat of the week

Temptation isn't going away. The best way to avoid a crisis is to anticipate it.

Your Move

Get in the prevention game. Studying history and telling stories about fallen empires and leaders is the best form of prevention.

3. Strategize

What can you do to minimize risk? And what can you do to give yourself the best chance of success?

Your Move

For me, nothing helps more than increasing faith. And one of the easiest and most effective ways to decrease risk is to avoid alcohol.

4. Read

Walter Isaacson's biography of Elon Musk.

Your Move

If you're serious about studying great leaders, I don't see how you can NOT read this book. If 688 pages sounds like a lot, listen to the audiobook.

5. Perspective

Amazing Grace. The song is one of the best affirmations you can listen to. It challenges you. It humbles you. It gives you perspective. It puts you in gratitude mode. It gives you strength. It gives you hope.

Your Move

I invite you to listen to Amazing Grace whenever you need strength. Or, even better, turn it into a daily habit along with deep gratitude for all the blessings you have.
