The hardest thing a leader can find is a killer who embodies your principles and sets the tone for your organization. Belichick had Brady. Pop had Duncan. Phil had MJ and then Kobe. Gates had Ballmer. Go find yours.

A killer (aka flag carrier or rockstar) at the top drives the entire company and sets the standards for everyone. Find this person, cherish this person, and continue to drive them.

Don't confuse love with who you give your attention to. Don't treat everyone the same because everyone is wired differently.

Single people out. It's magical to say things about people publicly that they didn't realize you knew.

This quote from Deion Sanders about recruiting Travis Hunter: "You try to find out what makes him tick, what makes him him, and you recruit to that...the thought process of how he goes about life, that's what you're trying to identify..."

Remember that one size fits one! The best leaders understand that everyone is different and manage according to each individual's needs and desires.
