Pbd's 5 moves for the week

1. Reflect

"Camaraderie can be dangerous. Too often, it makes people not want to call out underperformers."

Your Move

Create a culture that has the right type of camaraderie. That means you encourage being called out yourself and make it known that the best leaders call out low standards.

2. Stat of the week

The time to think about how to deal with lower motivation around the holidays was two weeks ago! You need to have contests and systems in place that make sure everyone is at their best as they close out Q4.

Your Move

Start now. If you wait until people start taking extra days off around Thanksgiving, you have already lost the quarter and ended the year on a bad note.

3. Strategize

Can you succeed in business by setting aside your personal goals? Or is a disciplined personal life a catalyst for business success?

Your Move

Stop making excuses for not going to the gym, date night, reading, or spending time with close friends. Being a workaholic at the expense of your personal life is a sign you are unorganized and lack the ability to delegate as a CEO.

4. Read

This quote (and many others) from the great Thomas Sowell: "When you want to help people, you tell them the truth. When you want to help yourself, you tell them want they want to hear."

Your Move

Know your vision and your timeframe. If you're in it for the long haul, you'll be very comfortable telling the truth without being worried about people not liking you in the short term.

5. Perspective

With all that's going on in the world, where do I even start? Tough times make me grateful for freedom, my family, my health, and the ideals that led me to embrace America as my home.

Your Move

Accept all your emotions. It's okay to be angry and afraid and still find things to be grateful for.
