Pbd's 5 moves for the week
May 8, 2022
1. Reflect

If you're competitive and cast a big vision for others, you give birth to believers/winners and enemies/vultures. When you plateau, you lose the believers and give life to the vultures.

Your Move

Reach a new milestone or do the impossible and the respect you have for yourself will skyrocket. This will improve your current relationships and allow you to attract people who vibrate at a totally different level.

2. Stat of the week

The number one reason someone misses a goal is mindset. They have a limiting belief system--that they probably aren't even aware of.

Your Move

As a leader, recognize when someone on your team doesn't believe they can hit a goal. From there, you need to use both logic and emotion to help them break-through. Logic is the formula--they need to see the exact activity and outcomes to hit a goal. Emotion is injecting belief by selling the "why."

3. Strategize

The late Olympic runner Steve Prefontaine said, “To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift.” A reader sent this to me in response to what I wrote last week: "To me, not chasing greatness is being disloyal to God, my father, and my kids."

Your Move

Let go of the illusion that you can coast in life and be fulfilled. The real juice in life comes from challenges and pushing to be your best.

4. Read

Crucial Conversations: Tools for Talking When Stakes are High

Your Move

There's a reason this book has sold more than 5 million copies and why I made it the Book of the Month for Valuetainment. Read it, study it, and constantly practice its principles. Your willingness to embrace conflict and have crucial conversations is as important for your business as it is for your personal life.

5. Perspective

Conflict.

Your Move

Every conflict exposes your own weaknesses. It also gives you an opportunity to heal yourself and the relationship. Instead of avoiding it, dive in with the tools you learned in Crucial Conversations.
