Pbd's 5 moves for the week
June 10, 2023
1. Reflect

For your company to succeed, you must understand and analyze your competitors. But to achieve long-term domination, you need enemies to destroy.

Your Move

For both you and your company, identify who you must beat. A competitor will reveal your weaknesses in the market. An enemy will inspire resilience you never knew you had.

2. Stat of the week

Collect data, analyze it, and act on it. So many of the bad decisions I see come from people relying solely on their intuition.

Your Move

Stop winging it. Stop solely relying on your gut. Take the time and spend the money to use data to better run your business. That also means getting up to speed on AI.

3. Strategize

A witch-hunt is defined as: "A campaign directed against a person or group holding unorthodox or unpopular views." WHY do you think witch-hunts happen?

Your Move

When you see someone's character being attacked, before you buy the headline, ask yourself WHO wants to attack this person and WHY. If you can reflect on this, you'll usually be able to identify the source of the witch-hunt.

4. Read

Hitmaker: The Man and His Music by Tommy Mottola. Mottola discovered and launched the careers of many superstars, including Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Shakira, Jennifer Lopez and Gloria Estefan, and is credited with creating the "Latin Explosion."

Your Move

Whatever industry you're in, study both success and failure. Instead of trying to reinvent the wheel, pull in ideas from other sources and then make them your own.

5. Perspective

My dad. There's nothing like it when people tell me all the things my dad did for them that they never talked about.

Your Move

Go serve others. Nothing will bring you more fulfillment than connecting, advising, helping, leading, and loving others.

Future Looks Bright!
