Pbd's 5 moves for the week
July 15, 2023
1. Reflect

Always edify the leaders in your company, especially in public. If they want feedback and they trust you, they will ask for it. Support goes much further than criticism.

Your Move

You may think you know, but you have no idea what your leaders are dealing with. Instead of criticizing them, ask what you can do to improve the business.

2. Stat of the week

Judge people based on the success of the people around them. Judge new hires based more on what they've done and less on what they say.

Your Move

Pay less attention to words and more attention to results. If you have to think hard about a candidate, it's a good indication that you're trying to talk yourself into why they'll be successful when their results don't back it up.

3. Strategize

If God can't change the devil, why do you think you can?

Your Move

Stop trying to change people. Stop deluding yourself and remember that the best predictor of future behavior is past behavior. Better to put that energy into changing yourself.

4. Read

You can't go wrong reading books by John Maxwell. This quote from Maxwell made an impact on me: "People buy into the leader before they buy into the vision."

Your Move

If people aren't following you, point the finger where it belongs: right back at you! If your team is uninspired or complacent, instead of asking what they need to do differently, ask what YOU need to do differently.

5. Perspective

God.

Your Move

Your whole perspective on life changes as soon as you let go and realize that God has your back.
