Pbd's 5 moves for the week
January 2, 2022
1. Reflect

Most executives are experts at playing hide-and-go-seek. They have mastered the art of doing as little as possible while keeping their job. Sadly, those with experience often lack hunger. Don't let an executive's credentials prevent you from holding him or her accountable.

Your Move

Sometimes you need a sonofabitch to lead people in your organization. When you're evaluating talent, value ambition and character more than skill and experience.

2. Stat of the week

What percentage of the success of your team is on you and how much is on them? For example, if you're leading a sales team, do you attribute success to their character and skill or your leadership and coaching?

Your Move

The sooner you take responsibility for your life and see that you are at the center of both success and failure, the sooner you become the creator (and not the reactor) of your life.

3. Strategize

"People do not decide their futures; they decide their habits and their habits decide their futures." -F.M. Alexander, Australian author

Your Move

Commit to habits. On the days you don't feel like following through on your habits, that's when you show what you're made of. Keeping your promises to yourself is the first step in proving your worth to the person who matters most...YOU!

4. Read

This brilliant quote from the creator of a Bronx Tale, Chazz Palminteri: "The saddest thing in life is wasted talent. You could have all the talent in the world, but if you don't do the right thing, then nothing happens."

Your Move

Make the most of your talent. Do not let another year pass without giving your life your best shot.

5. Perspective

Your unique gifts, which some people call superpowers.

Your Move

Show the gratitude for your gifts by putting them to use for your family, your team, and yourself. The world needs you this year more than ever!
