Pbd's 5 moves for the week
January 15, 2022
1. Reflect

The best leaders are constantly talking about dreams. They generate emotion. They also paint pictures that are disturbing. Facts tell; stories sell.

Your Move

Learn how to tell stories that generate emotion. Take people to places that get them to tap into both their dreams and their biggest fears. By "disturb" I mean showing people what their future will look like if they have regrets for not taking action.

2. Stat of the week

What is your reputation? What do people you do business with say about you? People who succeed have a reputation for getting things done.

Your Move

Decide what you want your reputation to be in 2022 and moving forward. Then do the work to live up to what you want others to think of you.

3. Strategize

This quote from the late Garry Shandling: “Give more. Give what you didn’t get. Love more. Drop the old story.”

Your Move

Take the time to see where you are holding resentment. Then do the work to let go of it. This will lead you to give more and gain more as a result of your generosity.

4. Read

Jack Ma's original sales pitch for Alibaba's IPO in 1999. (I may also be watching an episode or two of Ted Lasso).

Your Move

Watch it. Study it. See how he uses emotion to cast his vison and is already thinking fifteen moves ahead. And by "he", I mean Ma, not Lasso. 😀

5. Perspective

Your capacity to give.

Your Move

Change the question from, "What's the least I can give and get away with to: What's the most I can give?"
