Pbd's 5 moves for the week
December 30, 2023
1. Reflect

Ego is healthy. Arrogance is not. Selling yourself as perfect is a flawed strategy.

Your Move

Have pride in your name, your family, and your country. Carry yourself like a winner while still showing humility, since nothing is less attractive than arrogance.

2. Stat of the week

The first person to follow you is faith-based. That means you've done enough to sell your vision and display your character before you have real evidence that your plan works.

Your Move

Be the first one who buys into positivity. Be the first one who buys into bigger thinking. Be the first one who buys into changing your mindset. Instead of focusing on impressing others, let the best version of you speak for itself.

3. Strategize

In order to win at the highest level, you have to learn how to lose. Don't get me wrong: we are all afraid of losing publicly. But what does it say about you when you don't show grace or quit when you encounter adversity?

Your Move

When you lose and come back stronger, that's when you truly become a leader. Not only do you need to do this, you also need to teach it. Let it be known in your company that losing is okay--it's what happens AFTER a loss that matters most.

4. Read

The 6 Types of Working Genius by Patrick Lencioni.

Your Move

This is paradigm shifting time for everyone. How you bring in the new year will be a catalyst for the rest of 2024. Finalize your reading list and commit to being a learner who is constantly building new skills.

5. Perspective

The ability to laugh at yourself. Self-deprecation is an evergreen way to show that you're human and connect with people.

Your Move

Talk about your mistakes. Share your fears. It not only keeps you humble, but it shows that you're human and allows you to connect with people.
