Pbd's 5 moves for the week
December 19, 2021
1. Reflect

Jack Welch, who became the youngest chairman and CEO of GE, said, “Good business leaders create a vision, articulate the vision, passionately own the vision, and relentlessly drive it to completion."

Your Move

If you want to make 2022 your best year ever and lay the foundation for an amazing 20-year run, you have to do more than create a logical vision. You have to make it emotional and continually move people.

2. Stat of the week

The law of increasing wealth and responsibility means that success comes with more pressure and expectations.

Your Move

Accept it and plan for it. If you're looking to create a big life, the level of planning must be detailed and precise. There's no room to wing it when you're building an empire.

3. Strategize

Think about the correlation between marriage and business. We tend to over-plan the wedding and under-plan the business just as we tend to over-plan quarters and under-plan the life of a business.

Your Move

When you build your plan for 2022, focus on what brings long-term value rather than short-term profits. Then, make sure you find the balance of working ON the business and not just IN the business.

4. Read

The Toyota Way by Jeffrey K. Liker. This book kept coming up when I was creating the content for The Business Planning Workshop because companies in Japan focus on longevity.

Your Move

Read the book and study the 14 Management Principles.

5. Perspective

Literacy. The very fact that you are reading this email makes me feel grateful. Sure, technology comes with challenges, but let's not forget to be grateful for the ability to both share and receive words all over the globe.

Your Move

Take the time to write hand-written notes to all the people you are grateful for. Let them know how important they were to you in 2021. And if I don't say it enough, thank you for supporting me and Valuetainment and giving me the opportunity to do what I love.
